Historic Route 66: Needles – California

Just past the tracks, Route 66 angles more northwest as it threads through the heart of town. At the intersection with Needles Highway—a major local artery connecting to the Colorado River—we turn west once more, momentarily crossing beneath I-40. This brief underpass signals a transition from the historic alignment back toward the modern freeway. Emerging on the other side, we continue northwest for just a few more blocks before reaching the final I-40 interchange.
