Arkansas Highway 365: North Little Rock

Let’s hit the road together for a short but eventful drive along Arkansas Highway 365 as it weaves its way through North Little Rock. Covering about 4 miles, this urban route gives us a front-row seat to the day-to-day pulse of one of Arkansas’s most historic and vibrant cities—mixing city life, a dash of local history, and a touch of green space all in one go.

We start our trip at the intersection of U.S. Highway 70, right on Broadway Street—a major corridor into the heart of North Little Rock. Broadway is more than just a road; it’s one of the city’s main arteries, lined with local businesses, service stations, and eateries. The neighborhoods nearby—like Argenta, the city’s arts district—are full of character, with plenty of renovated warehouses and murals for anyone interested in a quick detour before or after the drive.

As we roll west on Broadway, it doesn’t take long to reach the roundabout at Pike Avenue. This is where Arkansas Highway 365 breaks north, and we follow it as it transitions from the busy grid of downtown to the more open stretch along Pike Avenue and MacArthur Drive. You’ll notice how the vibe changes here—suddenly, the traffic is a bit lighter, the road a bit broader, and you catch glimpses of residential neighborhoods branching off the main route.

Cruising up MacArthur Drive, we pass through the Pershing Boulevard intersection. Keep your eyes peeled as you continue, because you’ll soon encounter the massive interchange with Interstate 40. This section can get busy with folks heading west towards Conway or east toward Little Rock, but it’s a good place to appreciate the logistics of central Arkansas’s road network.

Once we’re past I-40, Arkansas 365 turns northwest, and we’re treated to a stretch that feels a little more relaxed. There’s a mix of established neighborhoods and light industry out here, and you’ll spot the entrance to Burns Park just off Charles Boyer Drive—the endpoint of our drive. Burns Park is a real highlight for anyone looking to stretch their legs or enjoy some green space, offering everything from hiking trails and disc golf to a fun amusement park and even a covered bridge.

All in all, this quick jaunt along Arkansas Highway 365 is a microcosm of North Little Rock itself—urban, accessible, and never far from a pocket of nature or history. Whether you’re commuting, exploring, or just passing through, it’s a drive worth adding to your list.
